Kithnest is unusual among the apps we make, and the difference is worth stating first: most of the personal data inside it is not about you. It is about your friends and family — their birthdays, their cities, their sizes, the notes you keep so you do not forget. So this policy is arranged by whose data it is, rather than by category.
No sign-up, no email, no name, no phone number, no advertising identifier, no analytics event, no crash report. Kithnest has no account system to register with and no measurement library compiled into it.
None of this rests on our restraint. INTERNET is absent from the manifest, which means Android itself blocks the app from opening any connection. To collect something you need a destination for it, and Kithnest has none.
This is the substantial part of Kithnest, and it deserves a straight answer. When you write down a friend's birthday, their address, their clothing size or a note about how you met, you are recording personal data about someone who is not in the room.
In European law, keeping such records purely for your own private and family life falls under the household exemption in Article 2(2)(c) of the GDPR — the same provision that lets you keep a paper address book or a shoebox of letters. Kithnest is built to stay firmly inside that exemption: the data is stored on your device, is never transmitted, is never pooled with anyone else's, and cannot be published from within the app.
Practical courtesies follow from this. If someone asks what you have written about them, you can open their profile and show them; nothing is hidden from you inside the app. If they ask you to remove it, deleting the profile removes it completely, because no copy exists anywhere else.
We are not a processor of your friends' data, for the simple reason that processing would mean receiving it first. Kithnest has no server behind it, no backup, no sync between your own devices, and no contact import that reaches outward. Nothing is bundled into the build except the Android platform.
The one company adjacent to this is Google, which distributes and updates the package through Google Play under its own privacy policy. What Google records about an installation is outside our sight and our control, and nothing about the contents of your app travels through it.
None are declared: no contacts, no location, no storage, no camera, no internet. Two points worth spelling out, because both would ordinarily require a permission and here do not:
Photographs. Adding a picture to a profile uses Android's own photo picker, which hands the app the single image you chose and nothing more. Kithnest never gains access to your gallery.
Contacts. People are added by typing, deliberately. The app cannot read your address book, which also means it can never quietly enlarge itself with people you did not choose to record.
For the app itself, Cafe Srl — registered in Italy, trading as NovaDrift Interactive. For the profiles you create inside it, you are, under the household exemption described above.
Via Ceccardo Roccatagliata Ceccardi 3/5Kithnest for Android, package com.bondkeeper.kithnest, in the form Google Play distributes it — and no other product of ours.
There is no age at which Kithnest becomes unsuitable. Nothing written into it can be sent, shared or published from within the app, so a younger user's notes stay exactly where a paper notebook's would.
The GDPR grants you access to any personal data an organisation holds about you, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Ask us and the answer arrives within a month, reporting an empty file — a consequence of the first section rather than an assurance we could later soften. Complaints belong with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali at garanteprivacy.it, or with the supervisory authority of the country you live in.
Should a release ever add a route between the boxes in the diagram — a backup, a shared circle, an export that travels — this page will be rewritten and re-dated before that release is published. The copy on your phone keeps behaving as described here.
